Janet is a Chartered Accountant and has worked in senior finance leadership roles in the charity sector for over 16 years.

Prior to this she worked in financial services for 15 years and specialised in project and change management, in particular finance transformation projects in investment banking focusing on process improvements and automation.

She has worked with a variety of different charities across the sector and has experience of many different types of income streams and expenditure models, including membership based organisations, grant-making charities and charities with multiple trading subsidiaries.

She has expert knowledge of charity accounting and the regulatory environment within the sector.

Janet believes that all charities can be financially sustainable with the right financial management processes and systems in place.

in 2024 she founded her practice, Parker Chapman. to work with small to
medium sized charities in the UK with the mission of improving financial
management and expertise in the charity sector.

She aims to improve the financial resilience and sustainability of her clients by providing expert advice, support, consultancy and high quality outsourced back office services at an affordable cost.

Janet loves nothing better than sorting out problem finance departments and leaving them in a much better state than she found them!

Whatever project she is working on, she will always identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to address any issues.
